Welcome to the International eNegotiation Exhibition
January 6, 2012
This site is designed to give you a hands-on experience with Smartsettle. You will start with Smartsettle One. The current event uses a case with Buyers and Sellers in an online marketplace in which you will play either Buyer or Seller. You may need to wait for someone else to come along and play the other side.
NOTE 1: Despite what it might say in some of the dialogs, this event is not part of any competition and will not be scored.
NOTE 2: Thank you for your participation. Please remember to fill out the exit questionnaire. Your feedback is valuable to us.
Welcome to the International eNegotiation Exhibition
October 29, 2011
The Cyberrweek 2011 event has ended. Come back in a few days to practice buying your Christmas tree online.
This site is designed to give you a hands-on experience with Smartsettle (as if you were practicing for a real-life case). A wizard will take you through a number of steps starting with Smartsettle One, with which you will negotiate a simple hypothetical case that has been simplified to a single numerical issue. After you complete at least two practice cases you will be eligible for scoring in a competition.
If you have a real-life case, you may submit that after the practice. Moving on to your real-life case is not part of the competition. If your real-life case is complex or if you are in facilitator training you may wish to continue your training with Infinity.
Please remember to fill out the exit questionnaire. Your feedback is valuable to us.

Students with experience using Smartsettle One will have the opportunity to compete with Smartsettle Infinity, where they will learn how preference analysis and optimization can be used to uncover hidden value and reach better agreements.
Credit for course work will be dependent on each instructor.

9-Year-Old Wins Prize in Smartsettle One Competition
May 20, 2008
The latest competition at the International eNegotiation Tournament featuring the new Smartsettle One system ended Thursday with a surprising finalist.
Nine-year-old Jade Larson, daughter of Dr. David Larson, a speaker at the 2008 Forum on Online Dispute Resolution (ODR), achieved third place in a Smartsettle One competition hosted by the International eNegotiation Tournament. The full slate of top performers are posted here at the Tournament website.
Smartsettle is most widely known for its Infinity software, the world’s only multi-issue, multi-party online negotiation system. The company has now established another important landmark- distilling the vision and basic functionality of Smartsettle Infinity into an easy-to-use single-issue negotiation system, Smartsettle One.
During the Forum in Victoria last week, delegates participated in the competition, trying the new web-based application using real world scenarios as case contexts. As one of the youngest delegates at the conference, Jade Larson added a new dimension of enthusiasm to the gathering, influencing keynote speaker and Internet pioneer, Vinton Cerf's opening remarks when he said that ODR has come a long way, such that a 9-year-old has demonstrated usability of new technologies.

Smartsettle Infinity to One
For newcomers to Cyberweek, a little history is in order. Past Cyberweek participants have had the opportunity to use what we now call Smartsettle Infinity, an eNegotiation system that is applicable to virtually any type of case with any number of negotiators. Smartsettle Infinity uses optimization algorithms to put negotiators in control of a multivariate blind bidding process that quickly produces outcomes that are both fair and efficient. Smartsettle Infinity has been referred to as “the most sophisticated and powerful eNegotiation system on the Internet”, but another persistent theme has been; “Make it simpler, simpler, simpler...”
Mission accomplished: Nothing CAN be simpler than ONE. Smartsettle One.
